Rainier [story]

I had a day dream and I couldn't get "Rainier" out of my head. It was paired with my girl, my main character, and it won't go away. I don't think I want it to go away.

---------------------
The Beginning:

"RAINIER!"
A voice drifted through the forest with force, but died shortly after in the thick clutter of trees.
Sounds don't carry well in the forest. If you were lost you remained lost, and became apart of the forest.

Rainier was running on her last resources of energy. Panting- sweat dripping down her temples, forehead, and back- enticing the chase. Her body burned intensely and her ankles becoming numb, she forced herself over a fallen tree. The jump was easy enough but the abrupt encounter with the ground forced her to stumble. Faltering a few steps she finally gave in to her body's exhaustion and fell to the ground, face planting in the thick floor of the forest. A rumble shook the trees from the impact, but no time to think about that.. With a quick glance behind, her fears began to boil. How could she out run it?

It took only seconds for the wolf to reach her after her fall. It took another second for the wolf to claim the scent. Rainier stared at her hunter. It seemed to be enjoying itself, hovering above and breathing as if her scent was the only thing keeping it alive. Was this it? Would she meet her death this young? The wolf tensed and gathered his attention towards her neck, for the easy and quick kill. Realizing her death was inevitable Rainier's heart sank with fear- pregnant with hopelessness. She held her breath and closed her eyes..

"RAINIER!"

A scream drifted through the forest with determination, but died shortly after in the thick clutter of trees. It took only a second for the wolf's teeth to grab her neck.

"RAINIER!" Zeb was the one who found her. She was curled up on the forest floor with a thick puddle of blood crusted to her shirt. Her hair was matted and thick with blood, her neck intact, her eyes closed and deep with sleep. She was whimpering in her sleep.

"She's alive!" Zeb yelled behind him, then turning his head toward Rainier again making sure his eyes were right. H
is hand was hesitant to touch her, afraid she might disappear. His group quickened their pace and approached her body. They circled around her, each of them mentally identifying her correctly.

"She doesn't look the same.. The forest has taken something from her.." Zeb held in his anger, clenching his teeth. He scooped Rainier into his arms and lifted her from the forest floor. "We must hurry ho
me. She's been out here for too long."

I googled "forest" and found these pictures. They are beautiful and eerie, they are perfect!

Until next time, I hope everyone had a joyful Thanksgiving!

William. [story]

Basically, doing a character study and building on what I previously posted. There are too many influences in my head but I have an idea.. I know who i want William to be. It's just hard to write everything I see.

----------------------
William:

Another blind date with his trusty dagger. He knew how to kill and he was damn good at it. Killing became a second nature but one that he was forced into. He had the eyes, the ears, and the strong fearless hands of a hunter. A killer.

He walked the bustling main street a few paces and then ducked into a small alley way, leaning against a putrid brick wall for balance. He never liked the city, it seemed to wrap it's greedy hands around his lungs making it hard to breathe. Collecting himself he continued through the alley, ignoring the smell and clopping through puddles of who knows what..

It hasn't rained in weeks. It seemed. He was always in the forest, hunting, in a completely different world. The forest was unforgiving. It took whatever it needed from whoever spilled blood inside her borders.

William was unforgiven. Tonight would be unforgiven.
------------------

He could hear the blood pumping through the beasts' veins. It's fur giving off the stench of decay and death. It was looking at him. His heart quickened, as it always has when he tightened his grip on the dagger.
The wolf was crouching and shifting his weight from side to side, evaluating the situation and the hunter standing before him. Survival of the fittest. Crooned the wolf in his thoughts.
"I could not agree more."
Within a few seconds the wolf closed the gap between them. Kicking up the forest as it hurdled toward William, full force, foaming at the mouth and intending to bask in the glory of a new kill. William crouched at a crucial point and the wolf flew above him, his dagger met the wolf's chest. He tightened his grip on the hilt and dragged it with him to the ground, gutting the wolf from torso to groin.
The body of the wolf twitched it's death spasms beside him. Repulsive killer. He thought and spat at the corpse not worrying about his aim.

William knew what was coming. He cleaned his knife and sheathed it, protecting it until the next time he would have to take a life. The forest would take a day, week, month from him to cleanse him from this killing. He wiped the sweat from his brow with his hand. Then, a force took over his body and threw him back onto the forest floor. He could see the trees above him swaying and rustling, as if chanting a spell to cleanse him. There it is.. The moment he feared.. The forest made her power known; every time the same way-- He had to experience the death he created.

The feeling of a dagger-- only sharper-- pierced his chest with such force and drew itself down, down, down while snagging his organs and ripping the life out of him, slowly, painfully. William shuddered and started to spasm, the pain was too much. He cursed the forest and rolled over to vomit. He felt the death creep up but he was a hunter of the forest, he had died a thousand times already. The forest kept his life but made him experience the death.

Lycanthrope. [story]

I've been working on a few ideas to create a story from. I'm trying to work on my story-telling abilities, so if I fail I'll stick to prose and emotional outbursts. Eh? But here's something I played with from one of my favorite subjects: Werewolves. {Drool}

------------------ (draft, revision needed. cough. clap. sigh.)

All she could do at this precise moment was to gaze into the sky-- the midnight clouds parted revealing her curse in the form of a full moon. She felt her body shake and a shiver ran down her spine. Her fingers began to tingle and she feared this moment more than she feared death-- for in a way it was death.. Death of her sanity, death of her human body, and death of her free will. She would transform. She would become a monster and no one could save her.

Nothing could be done tonight. She was a slave to the moonlight and the winter night.

Her lungs began to swell, ripping her chest apart and she let out a howling scream shaking the trees around her. The pain was unbearable and it felt as though it would kill her. Her body toppled over and twitched in the wet grass. Her clothes unfolded around her body gracefully enough and her skin shreded to make room for the new body emerging. Her once pale blue eyes turned yellow, which held the yerning for blood and raw guts.

Please this time let it kill me! Another scream ripped through her body and soul.

With the last of her old free will and motivation to move she stood up on her new legs. Her demonic yellow eyes scanned the area around her. New sensations arose from everywhere on her body-- the phasing was almost complete. She knew he wouldn't run away and his presence tickled the hair on her body.

She saw him walking towards her with controlled-panic and regret etched on his face, he was holding a dagger deftly between his fingers as if to throw at the right moment. I'm sorry that I have to do this.. He thought as he watched her get up. It was impossible for him to see her in what she had become. She's gone. He thought while something stabbed his heart breaking it in two.

She stood her ground and licked her sharp fangs delicately with her rough tongue. He took a step forward. Wrong move, Will.. The wolf's muscles tensed and her back arched, ready to lunge. Run, William, run..

I can't describe this.

Every time I listen to "Censored Colors" a tidal wave of emotion (both highs and lows) seems to wash through me-- pushing and pulling me back and forth against a wall.. The wall that reality has created in my mind and in front of my eyes-- it shatters from the impact.. And in a way I see things clearly, again, finally. So here it goes..

Love.
I know what love is and I have never tasted such a sweet thing in my life. Nothing in the world (yes, even a fast car) can compare to this. My heart beats with a purpose now, and if I were not such a shy girl, I would paint the world and I would show everyone how to love themselves and others. So. Life is short. I've experienced enough pain and I've cried enough to fill the Pacific Ocean, at least! So if I am ever granted a strand of goodluck, please grant the ones I love the pleasure..

Some for my Mother: even though she hurts me I know she's a good person, even though her form of "love" isn't something I can handle. I still wish you well.

Some for my Dad: may you find your soul mate and experience the life and love that was taken from you. You deserve more than what you've settled for.

Some for my Brother: I give you most of my goodluck.. I hope you get your fortune and I hope you feel proud of yourself, you don't know how much we're hurting from your struggle as well.

Some for my friends and extended family: Sometimes I don't feel worthy enough. Everyone shines with such a passionate light!

Some for my dog, Spencer: May the afterlife give you as much, if not more, love than what I was able to give you. You are always welcome back home. :] I'll rub your belly until my hands go numb, I promise.

Last but not least.. Everything that I am, will be, and want to be.. Goes to my Andrew. You are my heart and there is no one more beautiful than you, even with your silly hair. I love you. Without you I would still be wandering aimlessly on the path to self destruction. I want to build a beautiful life with you. I want to marry you and I want you to live a strong, long, and healthy life. I don't understand why we're waiting anymore.. I'm not scared any more.

So. Life is short. Do I build that retirement plan well or do I just live.. Do I have that much time? Do I experience everything now the best I can or do I save, save, save and live later? My body will break, my soul will tire, my brain will weaken.. But I'm not ready yet. Whatever good luck I have left please bestow my body with health and longevity.

Stay Golden

"Stop driving your Honda like it's a race car.." - Andrew.

..But, it could be. It has been so good to me! Finally, when I've realized the true beauty of speed it has to crap out on me. I'll miss our 95 mph trips along I-84 East, our exhilarating and often anger filled rampages down Stark street at 60mph. {shrug} There is no other feeling in the world, nothing quite like speed.. When everything around you and outside your window begins to melt and mold into a meaningless mass. It's just you and the breath-taking invention that you're sitting in.. The thing that takes you to the stars and back, whenever, where ever. You are in control. The world looks a little more colorful. You're heart will never beat the same. I'm in. I'm hooked.

It's a shame, really, that I have nothing to my name but an unfinished associates degree. Hurry up January! My life begins again when you show your beautiful face.

My mind is a mess but in an absolutely delicious way.. I'm Juggling multiple books at the moment, trying to find something to satiate me as much as the Twilight Sagas recently have.

Some things of interest (and current fixations:)
"Blood Ties" (book 1 of the Casting trilogy) by Pamela Freeman. She writes how I would write if only I had a compelling story to tell. Oh, the possibilities!
Also, I picked up a Charles Dickens book, Tale of Two Cities. I've been meaning to read it for a few years and now is a perfect time to do so.
"The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins is sitting next to me giving me "that look" I might cave soon.
Last but not least, Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series.. I know I'll never be the same after this one, so I'm saving them for last this time around.

{sigh} If only my reality would allow me to wallow in the stories I read. Then maybe I would feel complete.

Aliens & Vodka

All about the perfect ending to a dreadful dream; about waking up while sitting outside on a fire escape with a close friend, drinking green colored vodka, and slurring your attempts to sound philosophical. When all of a sudden you and your friend spot a fuzzy light in the sky zooming up and down, forward and backward towards the earth. You turn your head and through your drunken eyes you say, "Dude, they are here."

And you are happy...
